You will need the following:

A visa for the period of sojourn available from the Consulate of Rep. Cabo Verde.

A valid passport.

Travel and medical insurance with repatriation or air ambulance facility.

Your driving licence may be useful.

If doing the SCUBA week your valid C-Card and valid Dive Medical Cert ... if a non diver for the SCUBA Experience note the details of requirement in this section.

To hand currency of Euros for the payment on location costs.

Your Electronic Card is operable at Sal Int Airport & at local Caixa Bank in Sal Rei (Boa Vista).

To fill out an arrivals/immigration form for arrival at Sal Int Airport (on board)

Any personal medication for the duration of your stay..

In your own interest, please advise the camp if you suffer from diabetes, asthma or epilepsy.

Spare distance/reading glasses if using contact lenses.

Flights

The visitor from UK can connect via Las Palmas in conjunction with Cabo Verde Airlines Flight on a double base holiday ... this flight leaves on the Saturday at 13.30 from Gandi Int Airport Gran Canaria and arrives in Sal Rei after 2 hours flying time. Local time is GMT -2 hours.

This is the same flight from MUNICH in Germany where transit is made in Las Palmas ... Thus a connection on the FRIDAY to Munich can be made by frequent flights from UK (see www.BA.com) and overnight at airport for the early morning departure LPA/Sal.

On arrival in Sal (to date) immigration formalities only as luggage thru-checked for the inter island flight to Sal Rei Boa Vista ... on arrival in Sal Rei personal contact will be made for transfer to Camp Ervatao.

The RETURN flights are on the Friday from Boa Vista and Sal, departing approx Mid-night to Las Palmas and on to Munich ... connections from Munich back to UK on the Saturday.

The island-hop is 20 mins and on arrival in Boa Vista you will be met for the transfer in open air Toyota vehicles ... the warm air and all round vision of your first views of the island are to be enjoyed with a little break en route for a local village refreshment ... soak up the atmosphere.

VISITORS' PROGRAMME

For individuals ... couples or families with children

The visitors programme is one whereby an introduction to the Tortuga programme can be enjoyed amongst the other interests of the island. The programme provides a guest house facility although a separate camp unit may be offered for the future, if sufficient interest is expressed ... thus an attached programme of 2 nights turtle contact ... 2 island excursions and snorkel experience to a beautiful coral reef colony and the sleeping shark rift ... transport for these events is included in your package.

Guest house provides accommodation with breakfast and all other meals are to visitors' choice although the 2 nights turtle contact is provided with an evening meal and beverages.

The Guest house is in Sal Rei and comfortable ... all other meals are easily arranged in town ... there are a variety of little local restaurants which provide adequate food and the local rum/grog is a feature along with the honey or coconut flavoured Ponche rum, mix with Coke or Sprite with ice for sundowners or late evening pleasure.

The sheltered beach of the bay in Sal Rei offers plenty of sunbathing and young people play space ... info on arrival.

Costs

The costs of flights from Las Palmas via Sal to Boa Vista remains as the volunteer costs and the flight frequency the same. €450.00 per person. Children under 10 may get concession ... please consult with the appropriate agent.

Accommodation in Guest House is €25.00 per person per night with breakfast paid locally in euros or CB escudos. The Caixa Bank is in the Central Square.

The land package of 2 nights tortuga/2 excursions with snorkel and transport is per adult €95.00

Children to 10 years no charge ... 10-16yrs €40.00 per ... young mixed family rate on arrival..

All rates assumed minimum group of 6 participating adults.

AIRPORT TRANSFER to guest house is by local taxi at local rate and not included in the land package ... these costs are separated due to many differentials and periodic changes ... thus we provide the essential activity packages and arrange the accommodation and our agent arranges the flights.

In all cases a group cannot exceed 12 persons except by special arrangement or university student group application ... the future camp site module for a sojourn of 7 days for over 18 year olds is proffered at €199.00 per person group of 6 to include the 2 nights contact 2 excursions and airport transfer ... treat as volunteer accommodation and food.

Private groups can apply for a special group rate when under 5 persons (adults).
